He is Risen
Easter 2025 was a fun one!! Nellie and Lewis had a fun time opening their Easter baskets this morning and I loved collecting things from around the house to make it look more full. Nellie thought it was funny that the baskets included stuffed animals that they already owned.
Nellie and Lewis both wore their outfits from Kristin's wedding last weekend so it was especially fun to see Nellie in her flower girl dress! Church was hectic as Lewis woke up super early and was therefore very tired (and I am assuming his ears are still in pain from his ear infection). But the musical numbers were beautiful and what I heard of the talks were great too! Kathy and Kevin came with us to church and it was so fun to be there all together as a family!
After church I decided to head to Urgent Care for myself and turns out I also have an ear infection - laying in bed last night unable to sleep because of the pain really gave me more empathy for my dad who recently has been having lots of sleepless nights due to pain, and for Lewis who has had an ear infection for almost a month now. I had a nice conversation about this with my mom who reminded me that this is why it is so incredible that our Savior has experienced literally everything that we have gone through. He doesn't just feel bad for us when we go through pain, He literally knows exactly how it feels and therefore can help us so much more.
I am so grateful for the relationship I have with my Father in Heaven and for the blessing I have of knowing that He and His son Jesus Christ love me and know who I am. They are aware of me and are there for me always. I am grateful that because of Him, I can pray to my Heavenly Father and receive guidance, comfort, and strength in this life; because of Him I can be perfected and return to live with my Heavenly Parents; because of Him I can continually strive to return to Him and repent of my mistakes. What a blessing it is that we have a living Savior!
I am so grateful for the relationship I have with my family as well as my in-laws. I love that Nellie and Lewis are growing up with the example of family coming first and being important and I am so grateful for holidays like Easter where we get to spend even more time together. Happy Easter <3
